Wedding Photo Spots
If the thought of selecting a wedding photographer is not daunting enough, consideration must be given to where the wedding photos will be taken. Many resort and vacation spots have built in backdrops and scenery, but some hotels, restaurants, and reception halls don't necessarily have obvious wedding photo locations. A wedding photo suite should be one of the things that a potential bride and groom might want to look for when planning where their wedding will take place.
Wedding photo spots must take weather, heat, time of day, and whether not another wedding will be happening shortly after into consideration. The photographer must be experienced in getting the best shots from his subjects no matter what the backdrop or weather is. At a hotel, in a garden, at a banquet catering hall, or outside the picturesque church or building, there are plenty of locations that will make a great backdrop for wedding photos.
Moving the bride and groom from pose to pose, having them stand in the best lighting, getting into the most flattering pose, and taking as many pictures as possible in a limited amount of time are all the challenge the wedding photographer must meet. Adequate wedding photo spots must be scouted out and reserved ahead of time.
When using a banquet facility or other wedding location, some creativity in finding a place to take the wedding photos is needed depending on the time the photos will be shot. There are several things to keep in mind when choosing the places to take photos:
- There might be a special colored background to complement the colors of dresses in the flowers used in the wedding party.
- There might be a raised dais to get a large family all in one picture.
- There might be a beautiful sunset.
- A picturesque garden or room may only be available at a certain time.
- A beach, park, or mountain range might make a great setting, but transportation and weather will be critical components of determinig whether these options are viable - and they may be a wedding day decision.
When selecting a venue for the wedding ceremony and reception, the bride and groom should make sure they work with the photographer to plan out their shots based on the time and location of the wedding to make sure a variety of photos are taken. A back-up plan should also be made in the event of delays, poor weather, or other unforeseen event.
